Main Focus
The main focus of my research is aesthetic value, i.e., the value of sensory experiences. My
PhD thesis centered around understanding the experience of beauty. I
aim to uncover the rules that govern people's aesthetic choices from a psychological,
experimental and quantitative perspective. My postdoc here at the MPI focused on the development of a computational model of aesthetic value that is rooted in reward-learning models.
Curriculum Vitae
I was born in Germany, raised in Brussels, returned to Germany to
study psychology at the University of Konstanz and completed my PhD at
NYU in New York City. I came back home to Swabia for a postdoc with Peter Dayan.
