The main focus of my research is aesthetic value, i.e., the value of sensory experiences. My
PhD thesis centered around understanding the experience of beauty. I
aim to uncover the rules that govern people's aesthetic choices from a psychological,
experimental and quantitative perspective. My postdoc here at the MPI will focus on the development of an experimental paradigm and a complementary computational model that let us understand how people make aesthetic choices.
I was born in Germany, raised in Brussels, returned to Germany to
study psychology at the University of Konstanz and completed my PhD at
NYU in New York City. Now I am back home in Swabia for a postdoc with Peter Dayan.
