The University of Tübingen, Max Planck Campus, Cyber Valley, Leibniz Institute for Knowledge Media and Technology Park offer four days of discussion, lectures and guided tours.
Join in the discussions and get involved: at the Tübingen Science & Innovation Days from June 29 to July 2, 2022, the University of Tübingen, the Max Planck Campus, Cyber Valley, the Leibniz Institute for Knowledge Media and the Technology Park Reutlingen-Tübingen jointly invite interested citizens from the entire region for the first time. The multifaceted program includes interactive events, lectures, workshops and walks through the campus. All program items are free of charge; registration is requested to attend individual events. Wednesday, June 29
6:15 p.m.: Kick Off with panel discussion: "Knowledge creates the future - science and society in dialogue" (Festsaal, Neue Aula, Geschwister-Scholl-Platz)
Societal challenges need the expertise of science - but science also needs society. How can citizens and researchers enter into an even better dialogue? Best practice examples and discussion with Prof. Peter Grathwohl (University of Tübingen), Prof. Ulrike Cress (Leibniz Institute for Knowledge Media Tübingen), Dr. Eric Schulz (Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics), Julia Merlot (magazine "Der Spiegel", currently Cyber Valley Journalist-in-Residence), Prof. Thomas Thiemeyer (LUI Tübingen).

5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.: Startup:con Tübingen "Science Edition" of the Startup Center (Hörsaalzentrum Morgenstelle, Auf der Morgenstelle 16).
Panel discussion "Startups from science - opportunities and challenges" with Dr. Ingmar Hoerr (CureVac), Dr. Saskia Biskup (CeGat), Dr. Philip Häusser (Ablacon), Prof. Lars Ange-nent (University of Tübingen) and Dr. Philipp Lies (eye2you). 8:15 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.: Fishbowl discussion "Community in Crisis. What still keeps our society together?" (DAI, Karlstr. 3, with registration).
What does social cohesion mean? How can we strengthen our society - and what role does the dialogue between science and society play? Prof. Otfried Höffe, Prof. Regina Ammicht-Quinn and Dr. Davina Höll (all from the University of Tübingen) will discuss this with visitors. In a fishbowl discussion, a chair on the podium remains free for anyone who would like to join in the discussion. Musical accompaniment by Eric Biscalchin.

5:00 p.m.: The University of Tübingen awards the Prize for Science Communication to Prof. Carla Cederbaum (Ernst von Sieglin Lecture Hall, Schloss Hohentübingen, Burgsteige 11)
6:00 p.m.: Discussion "Climate Change - From Knowledge to Action: Where are the difficulties?" followed by a concert with Dizzy Krisch in a trio.
That climate change exists is undisputed, that we have to do something about it, too. How far can we go to make sure that everyone is involved? The discussion will be held by Prof. Reinhard Drews, Prof. Thomas Potthast and Prof. Kira Rehfeld, all from the University of Tübingen. (DAI, Karlstr. 3, with registration)

The Tübingen Max Planck Institutes, the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory and Cyber Valley offer tours, exhibitions and hands-on activities on genetics, evolution, brain research and artificial intelligence. (Registration for individual events required on site)
From 8:30 p.m.: Science Notes - Theme Travel (parking lot behind the Technical City Hall, Brunnenstr. 3, with registration)
On a balmy summer evening, we go on a journey: We follow a glaciologist on an Antarctic expedition, hike across the bottom of the Atlantic with a journalist, travel back in time with a paleontologist and accompany early man on his first steps. It's also about jetlags, bats and the sound of science. Brandt Brauer Frick plays live electronic music.
