Curriculum Vitae
Holger Dinkel is the head of Core IT, combining his scientific background with his IT experience to provide first-class computational support for the scientists at the institute. Holger Dinkel studied Biology and Computer Sciences in Erlangen, while financing his studies by working as a systems administrator at the computer center of the university. After finishing his PhD in bioinformatics he worked several years as a senior software engineer for EMBL Heidelberg before acting as head of IT at the Leibniz-Institute for Aging Research in Jena.
His mission is to support scientists in all aspects IT and he enjoys sharing his knowledge; that's why he is a Software Carpentry instructor as well as an OpenLifeScience mentor.
