Main Focus
As a behavioral
neuroscientist, I’m interested in understanding how behavior arises from
neuronal circuits. I am now working to leverage innate visual behaviors
and live neuronal imaging in the zebrafish to understand how single
cells in the brain act in concert to guide pre-attentive visual
behaviors.
Curriculum Vitae
I received my B.S. degrees in Biology and Psychology from Southern
Oregon University in 2011. I obtained my Masters in Psychology at
Humboldt State University in 2014, studying the behavioral and cellular
effects of L-DOPA in the lab of Ethan Gahtan. I received my PhD in 2019
from the University of Oregon in the lab of Philip Washbourne, where I
engineered a novel assay for social behavior in zebrafish and identified
an evolutionarily conserved population of cells required for normal
social interactions. In 2019, I joined the lab of Zhaoping Li to explore
visual attention and saliency using the zebrafish model system.
