We lament the passing of our board member Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Rosenstiel

Wolfgang Rosenstiel passed away on August 19, 2020, at the age of 65.

Wolfgang Rosenstiel had been a Professor of Computer Science since 1990 and, since 2010, founding Dean of the newly created Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Tübingen. He was an outstanding scientist and teacher. Since 2013, he was also closely associated with our campus, as a member of the joint Board of Trustees of the Max Planck Institutes for Biological Cybernetics and Developmental Biology and the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory.

Wolfgang Rosenstiel was an active supporter and advisor, helping significantly with the development of the campus. Losing him has deprived us of a strong advocate of basic scientific research, and a long-standing companion.

We will miss Professor Rosenstiel, and remember him with gratitude.
