I have been trained as a computer scientist and worked in several fields of industry and disciplines; financial automation (during active duty as a IT specialist and programmer at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan), computational finance (during B.S. & B.F.E.), computational web/mobile advertisement (during B.S. as an undergraduate student researcher), machine vision and visual psychophysics (during M.E. as a graduate student and a visiting student researcher).

 

The major turning point in my academic career is meeting Prof. Dr. Christof Koch. Since I joined his research group, I started to conduct my research on computer vision and visual psychophysics. In 2011, after going through internship, I joined Prof. Dr. Heinrich H. Bülthoff's group at Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics.

 

Currently, as a PhD student at the Department of Human Perception, Cognition, and Action at Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics, I conduct research on human factors in aviation, more specifically about human gaze behavior, cognitive modeling with eye movement analysis and brain image techniques (e.g., electroencephalography). Applications in public transportation (e.g., myCopter), defense (e.g., human emulation, safety controls, risk management), computer science (e.g., human-computer interface) would be potential derivatives from my research.
